πΎ Do you remember when we used to have to care about file size and bandwidth as designers? It seems like the dim and distant past, and in terms of the history of digital and technology it is.
But with the rapid rise of Generative AI and Web3 technologies that generate almost unbelievable levels of emissions, we believe itβs time to re-apply this thinking and consider the sustainability of your digital products. Did you know that technology is now the fastest growing carbon emitter and is already 3 times worse for the planet than flying?
Gareth Edwards from GoCodeGreen covers why adding being sustainable to your list of design constraints throughout the product design process can not only save you carbon but also potentially create better client outcomes.
