THE DESIGN3 STORY

When Web3 began to emerge, we thought - if there’s a Web3, shouldn’t there be a Design3?

The concept didn’t exist, so we claimed the domain and launched our vision. We understood that designers and digital teams need this vital new knowledge across Web3, AI, and sustainability, delivered in a way that seamlessly integrates into their professional lives.

Our passion is for design, in the broadest sense, and its evolving future. We wanted to empower the industry now so it no longer has to play catch-up or serve only a supportive role within the digital landscape.

Together, as practitioners, a discipline, and an industry, we have so much to offer - but we need a solid platform to realise that potential.

Who’s behind Design3?

  • Co-Founder

    Niharika is an entrepreneur who builds digital and ecosystem-led businesses from the ground up.

    As a founder, she plays multiple roles: developing strategic business direction, identifying future trends, market needs, and shifts in consumer mindsets and behaviours, then ensuring it all contributes to making the business profitable and scalable.

    At the core of it all, Niharika designs, creates, and implements every touchpoint of the business - from operational processes and production to marketing and financial strategy.

    Her approach as a founder is unique, as she tackles every challenge and solution through a lens that is innovative, human-centred, and purpose-driven. Previously, Niharika led design teams and large programmes of work globally, holding an Associate Partner role at Digital McKinsey, and working for companies such as Barclays, Vodafone, O2, Fidelity, and Boots.

    She holds a master's degree from Central Saint Martins and has taught at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins. Currently, she is a guest lecturer at Imperial Business School and serves on the advisory board of their Business Design Studio.

  • Co-Founder

    Alongside his role at Design3, Anish serves as an executive advisor on Design, Digital, and Innovation for Shell - following his role as Global Head of Design & Innovation for Shell Digital Hubs, which he helped establish from scratch. This capability develops products and services through design, lean innovation, and technology, addressing opportunities, particularly for the energy transition towards a sustainable future.

    Anish helps set strategic direction, leads global teams of designers and analysts, and shapes strategic, physical, visual, and digital work, championing a holistic, human-centred approach - from design thinking and service design through to digital creation (UX & UI).

    Previously, Anish worked with a variety of clients and consultancies on diverse projects, from developing the product and brand for a new Google payment venture to designing user-centric digital platforms and services for financial services companies, telecoms providers, pharmaceutical companies, publishers, and international governments during his time at EY-Seren and Deloitte.

    Anish holds an Executive MBA from Imperial College London, where he explored the integration of strategic design with business, as well as Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Design & Engineering from Brunel University. He is a guest lecturer at Imperial Business School, a regular keynote speaker at global design conferences, and has a large social media following on design topics.

IOver 100 years ago, the Bauhaus movement reshaped Design with a new ethos, purpose, and direction. The world has transformed dramatically since then, and while Design has evolved, it now needs a new leap forward - not just to keep pace but to lead the way in building a better world. That's why we've created a new curriculum.

This curriculum builds on the foundations and fundamentals of Design, as well as the 'current' disciplines (such as UX, Service, and Brand) while recognising there's a whole new wave approaching. 🌊
